The Kaka’ako Farmers’ Market will re-open in a new site at Ward Gateway Center this Saturday, July 15, just across the street from its previous location at Ward Warehouse. The event will be easy to spot because there will be more than 60 booths – selling baked goods, fresh fruits and veggies, coffees, crepes, pizzas and packaged foods – in the parking lot fronting Ward Avenue.
The Kaka’ako Farmers’ Market happens every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon and can be accessed via one of two lines on Waikiki Trolley. On the Red Line, get off at Ward Warehouse (Stop 14) or Ward Center (Stop 15). On the Purple Line, get off at Ward Center (Stop 10).
As part of the grand re-opening, The Kaka’ako Farmers’ Market will host a blessing ceremony before 8 a.m., followed by performances by the hula group Halau Ha’a Hula O Kekau’ilani Na Pua O Kailua, and all-day music by Keanu Boom Kanani Band.
Lucky shoppers will receive up to 200 coupons that can be used toward purchases at the farmers’ market. And the Honolulu French Connection will pass out slices of cake to all who desire.
