On Sunday, September 16, Waikiki will roll out the red carpet for a star studded event. Join us for the world premiere of the new Magnum P.I. reboot and the season 9 premiere of Hawaii Five-0. Special guest performance by 80’s darling, Cyndi Lauper.
Over 10,000 fans come support this annual event on Queen’s Beach located on the corner of Kalakaua Ave. and Kapahulu Ave.. Cast and crew walk the red carpet and attendees will get the chance to see their favorite stars from the shows. The event starts at 4pm at Sunset on the Beach organized by the City and County of Honolulu.
Arrive Early to See Stars from Hawaii Five-0 and Magnum P.I.
To get up close to the stars plan on arriving early. Diehard fans from around the world attend this event every year and get a spot in the front as early as noon. The location is right on the beach so you can go for a swim to cool off or hit up Starbucks on the corner. The stars start arriving about 4:30. The ceremony begins at 6pm and Cyndi Lauper will go on after, about 7.
The shows both feature Hawaii and you can see many of the famous locations on our tours. CBS will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of Hawaii Five-0. The original Hawaii Five-0 premiered on Sept. 20, 1968, and ran for 12 seasons.
Sunset on the Beach is easy to get to from any Waikiki Trolley Line, just get off at the Duke Kahanamoku Statue.
Hawaii Five-0 stars expected in attendance will be Alex O’Loughlin, Scott Caan, Ian Anthony Dale, Meaghan Rath.
Magnum P.I. stars expected in attendance will be Jay Hernandez (Thomas Magnum), Perdita Weeks, Juliet Higgins.
