What do you pack for a trip to Hawaii besides a swimming suit? In short, not much. Everyday is beautiful in Hawaii! If you are planning on visiting Honolulu in the spring and summer the weather is in the high 80’s and low 90’s during the day. At night you can expect the weather to be 10 degrees cooler than it was during the day. It typically doesn’t get below 70, even in the winter. Hawaii is truly paradise.
When you plan your vacation and packing list for your Hawaii vacation make sure you get the Waikiki Trolleys 4 or 7 day pass.
The 4 day pass includes unlimited access to all lines for four days. Use any four days within a seven-day period. Get the freedom to hop on and hop off the Waikiki Trolley whenever you want.
Women should have at least one nice dress for going out. You can save room in your suitcase and pick up beautiful dresses when you arrive in Hawaii. The swap meet on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday has a wide variety of cute, colorful, aloha print dresses. The Waikiki Trolley’s Purple Line stops at the Swap Meet every hour and 10 minutes for your convenience.
Men don’t need a jacket to go out for dinner. We are pretty low key around here, a button down shirt or even a polo will work. Are you more low key? Shorts, a t-shirt and slippers is a perfectly fine outfit. Honestly, one of the coolest fashion trends we have in Hawaii is the aloha shirt. You can visit Jams World store in Ala Moana Shopping Center and get a beautiful aloha print shirt that you can keep for years. Jams World also has women’s and children’s aloha print clothes. Many people like to get family pictures at sunset with their matching aloha print outfits. Getting to and from Ala Moana Shopping Center is easy on the Waikiki Trolley, just hop on and hop off the Pink Line.
You will need a good pair of walking shoes. There are lots of opportunities to walk around on your Hawaii vacation from experiencing Pearl Harbor to exploring the Honolulu Zoo on the Waikiki Trolley’s Green Line, even dinner at night on The Waikiki Trolley’s Dining Express Trolly can turn into a walking adventure. There are many hikes around the island, some even to waterfalls, you will need sturdy boots to get you there. If you plan on hiking Diamond Head from the crater to the peak your hiking boots will come in handy. We suggest that you bring your flip flops, but don’t call them that when you visit. Sound like a local by calling your flip flops slippers. Your slippers can be worn almost anywhere. They are the official shoe of Hawaii and can be worn almost anywhere.
