Built under an Indian Banyan Trees the International Marketplace has recently had a face lift. Before the rebuilding the the International Marketplace was a maze of vendors in an open air market that was very run down. However, the new International Marketplace is beautiful with bustling with stores, a remarkable food court and plaques honoring Hawaii past. You can visit the International Market Place on the Waikiki Trolley’s Pink Line.
If you are looking for charming local shops check out Kahala Mall. For instance, they have dozen local boutiques like Fighting Eel a locally designed casual resort wear or Magnolia a curated collection of local art & gifts. For families they host Toddler Time, a free activity every Wednesday from 10:30 am – 11:30 am at Center Court. In the hotter summer months Kahala Mall is a wonderful reprieve from the heat.
