Halona Blow Hole and Cove

Halona Blow Hole Hawaii

This natural wonder was formed thousands of years ago by molten lava tubes running from the ocean. Crashing waves push through the lava tubes, causing water to spray as high as 30 feet into the air. On a clear day, you can see the islands of Maui, Molokai, and Lanai. During the winter months, watch for whales at play!

With its picturesque small beach, Halona Cove is famous for appearing in many movies including From Here to Eternity, 50 First Dates, and Pirates of the Caribbean 4, just to name a few! Tide pools of entire marine ecosystems live side by side with sea turtles who feed on the rocks despite the torrents of rushing water.
