Halona Blow Hole

In Hawaiian, hālona means “lookout”, and that expression takes on a double meaning here. The location, by Hanauma Bay at Hālona point is a lookout offering stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. You also want to ‘look out’ when the blow hole is in action as the water can reach a height of up to nine meters. The blow hole was created by a lava tube which is open at both ends – thicker under the water line and narrower above it, forcing the water out under enormous pressure. Bring your camera for fabulous social media shots, and an umbrella if you don’t want to get wet! You’ll find the Halona Blow Hole on the Blue Line.
